About

Originally trained as an architect, Kitae Kim spent his early career designing large-scale permanent and temporary artworks at Studio Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, where he introduced real-time rendering and VR previsualizations to the proposal and design process. This massively improved the team’s efficacy and enabled investors and collectors to both understand and commit to funding the artworks.

During the height of the pandemic lockdowns he realized that even the simple sharing and presenting of 3D content was not possible and thus cofounded Foveate, with Ian Petrarca, as a way to better communicate products, spaces, and events with others. At Foveate, he heads Foveate Labs, which executes bespoke design services for businesses looking to take advantage of 3D/XR.
