“Voice Theatre” by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer is an interactive sound and light installation designed to transform the 2,000 year old "Augusta Raurica" Roman Theatre in Augst, near Basel in Switzerland. Live and curated voice messages activated the piece using hundreds of glimmering lights and loudspeakers arranged in concentric rings that underlined the architecture of sound travel.

The project was co-produced by the HeK art centre in Basel and the Kanton Basel Landschaft, and it was live between June 11 and July 1, 2018 and played back thousands of messages, including a cross section of languages from the region and beyond.
