“Mapped Han” is a site-specific mixed reality artwork for Rafael Lozano-Hemmer + Antimodular Inc. that premiered in Seoul, South Korea at the AmorePacific Museum of Art by David Chipperfield in Seoul, South Korea. 2018. One puts on the headset and is awoken in a virtual reconstruction of the museum mirroring the actual site they are in as they are taken on a narrative journey that reinterprets tenets of traditional Korean architecture, the typical placement of a building according to feng shui principles that favor a location between a mountain and a body water, as well as the works of naturalist poets like Henry David Thoreau and Siddhartha.
